Conditions of travel
Minimum numbers generally apply to our tours, although we make every effort to ensure departure for every scheduled tour. Luggage restrictions apply – please limit your luggage to no more than 15kg in a soft overnight style bag or backpack plus a small day pack or handbag.
No large or hard luggage will be accepted – e.g. suitcases, chairs/stools, cooking or sports equipment, computer game consoles, etc. Government regulations forbid smoking in tourist coaches, however frequent stops will provide an opportunity for those who desire to smoke.
All accommodation will be in no smoking rooms, unless you specifically request a smoking room and one is available. To enable everyone the opportunity of enjoying window and front seats, you may be asked to change seats daily during the course of your tour. We reserve the right to remove any passenger from a tour where the safety or comfort of other passengers is at risk.

 

Itineraries
Paperbark Tours prepares and promotes its tour itineraries in good faith and they are accurate at the time of publishing. We make every effort to keep to published timetables and itineraries. Changes to itineraries may occasionally be made due to unforeseen circumstances, changes to third party arrangements, to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers, or in response to feedback from our customers. Paperbark Tours reserves the right to alter the route or itinerary of any of its tours and arrange alternative carriers, accommodation providers and third party suppliers to those advertised, if necessary, or to cancel tours at any time. No refunds will be given in these circumstances, or in the event of any delay, curtailment or alteration of a tour resulting from any cause, including weather conditions, mechanical failure, illness, strikes or other causes, and any expenses incurred because of delays or changes beyond our control shall not be our responsibility and shall be borne by the passenger. Paperbark Tours does not guarantee the delivery of advertised services by third parties.

 

Inclusions
Transportation, accommodation, meals as specified, tours and cruises, admissions and entry fees, services of a driver and guide, individual trip kit (except on day tours), accommodation on a twin-share basis (except where otherwise specified) are all included in Paperbark Tours itineraries. Purchases of a personal nature, alcoholic drinks and optional extra activities are not included.

 

Validity of prices and itineraries

Prices and itineraries on this site are valid until 31 March 2010.

 

Limitation of liability
While we make every effort to ensure your comfort, enjoyment and safety, we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss due to events beyond our control. Participants in tours operated by Paperbark Tours or associated third parties are assumed to acknowledge the risks involved in those tours and to have indemnified Paperbark Tours against injury, accident or misadventure during their participation through any cause whatsoever. You should ensure you are in good health as we are sometimes in remote and isolated areas. If you are unsure, please check with your doctor. Please notify us of any medical condition of which we should be aware, and ensure you are carrying sufficient supplies of personal medications for the duration of the tour. Paperbark Tours accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings or baggage while on tour. Paperbark Tours accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss of enjoyment whatsoever and howsoever experienced by the passenger. Where Paperbark Tours does not operate the tour attraction, excursion and/or optional tours which may be included in the Itinerary or associated with the tour, Paperbark Tours shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury occasioned to any person or property as a result of such activity undertaken during the tour whatsoever or howsoever the same may be caused whether as a result of negligence or otherwise.

 

Waiver
You should be prepared to sign a Waiver of Responsibility Form before you begin your tour. Paperbark Tours will undertake to ensure your safety throughout the tour, however aspects of each particular tour may not be without an element of danger. The Waiver form is an understanding that you need to exercise judgement and care at all times to ensure your own safety and that of your fellow passengers.

 

Children
Because of the nature of our tours, regrettably we cannot accommodate children under 8.  Children aged 8-12 are eligible for a child fare if accompanied by at least one adult. Children over 12 must pay the adult fare. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

People with disabilities
If you have a disability or mobility restriction we welcome you on a Paperbark Tour provided you are accompanied by an able-bodied companion and do not require special assistance from Paperbark Tours crews. Paperbark Tours reserves the right to refuse to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of coach tour travel and who may require services and facilities that Paperbark Tours cannot guarantee will be available. You agree to not hold Paperbark Tours responsible for any decision made by Paperbark Tours or any service provider to refuse to carry you, provide any facilities or accommodation to you or to provide any service to you.

 

Payment and Cancellations
Online bookings require a deposit as indicated below. Reservations may be made by phone without a deposit, but reservations will only be held for a limited time without the following deposits:

Short Breaks – reservations held for a maximum of 4 days without deposit; 25% deposit to confirm booking; payment in full at least 14 days before travel.

Extended Tours – reservations held for a maximum of 7 days without deposit; 25% deposit to confirm booking; payment in full at least 30 days before travel.

The following fees apply in relation to cancellations:

  • Short Breaks – more than 14 days before travel:  full refund less $100 administration fee;  8-14 days:  loss of deposit;  4-7 days:  50% of fare;  less than 3 days:  100% of fare.

    Extended Tours – more than 30 days before travel:  full refund less $100 administration fee;  14-30 days:  loss of deposit;  3-14 days:  50% of fare; less than 3 days:  100% of fare.

 
  • Other operator cancellation fees may apply (e.g. travel agents, third-party accommodation providers) and can be made available on request.
  • Paperbark Tours reserves the right to cancel any ticket or booking, or to refuse to carry any client where payment has not been received by the company within the specified time.

The following policy applies to confirmation of travel:


All travel must be confirmed by telephone or email at least 24 hours before departure. If you are being picked up from other than a common departure point (e.g. hotel accommodation or private residence), you must call us on 1300 925 939 to confirm the pick up point (including name of accommodation and room number, or residential address and phone number) at least 24 hours prior to departure. Failure to confirm travel and/or pick up point may result in the cancellation of your booking.

 

Illness or Absenteeism
In the event of your withdrawal from a tour after commencement for reasons of illness, you must obtain a medical certificate in support of any insurance claim. We regret that no refunds can be made for absences from a tour, including but not limited to missed meals or sightseeing. Paperbark Tours make no representation or guarantees concerning reimbursements of funds paid by you under any insurance claim.

 

Insurance
Travel insurance is not included and we strongly recommend that you secure your own travel insurance against illness or injury, loss or damage to personal belongings, and inability to travel on the confirmed departure date.

 

General Conditions
This site and associated printed matter represent the entire agreement between you and Paperbark Tours, which is the tour operator. Paperbark Tours will be responsible to you for supplying the services and accommodation as described, except where such services cannot be supplied, or the itinerary used is changed due to delays or other causes of whatever kind or nature beyond the control of Paperbark Tours.
