What you should bring with you

On ALL Tours:

  • Sturdy walking shoes (closed toe and preferably with good ankle support) and good thick socks
  • Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • Swimming gear and towel
  • Water bottle
  • Camera, film and spare batteries
  • Money and/or credit/debit cards for optional personal purchases
  • Weatherproof jacket
  • Personal medications

 

On Short Breaks (In addition to the above):

  • Sufficient clothing for three days
  • Warmer clothing in case of cool evenings
  • Appropriate footwear/clothing for tennis, canoeing, etc (optional)
  • Toiletries
  • Chargers (12v lighter socket type and/or 240v) for phones/personal electronic equipment

 

On Extended Tours (In addition to the above):

  • Torch
  • Sufficient clothing for up to six days (washing/drying facilities will be available at certain points along the route)
  • Fly net to cover your head if you are bothered by flies

You may also choose to bring binoculars, mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 players, handheld game consoles, reading matter and other personal items. Please keep in mind the limit of 15kg on your luggage, and avoid bringing delicate or breakable items. We would remind you that we do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings and recommend you take out travel insurance to cover such matters. We would prefer that you do not bring laptop computers and would remind you that on extended tours we provide you with a Netbook computer with internet access for the duration of the trip.

We keep a full passenger manifest on all tours including personal contact details, but we also recommend that you keep in your wallet or purse a card or piece of paper with contact details in case of emergency.

 

What we provide

• All bedding and linen

• All cooking/eating equipment and utensils

• Individual trip kit including personal comfort pack (soap, shampoo, insect repellent, sunscreen, moisture wipes)

• Binoculars and digital cameras for group use

• Travel and board games

• On-board reading, music and video library

• On-board 12v and 240v charging points

• Light travel rugs

• First aid kits

• Continuous communications (mobile & satellite phone, UHF radio, wireless internet)

• We can also provide water bottles, hats and day packs (at a nominal price) for those who don't have these items. Please remember that all three items will be necessary for your trip - let us know when booking if you are interested in purchasing one of our fresh water bottles, nifty day packs or comfortable sun hats.
